As a therapist for children, adults, and adolescents, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is meaningful and satisfying to you. I offer deep listening, respect, and a safe space for you to reflect and expand self-awareness. Through talk therapy, and perhaps through more non-verbal, experiential approaches, we will work together towards your individualized goals.
My approach to therapy is primarily humanist, creative, and developmental. Some non-verbal approaches I may use include mindfulness practices, creative arts, and therapeutic play. The roots of trauma, anger, depression, and anxiety, can often be more easily accessed and worked through using these more experiential methods.
As result, clients have been able to manage difficult emotions with integrity, improve coping skills, improve decision-making, have loving relationships with family, and let go of old fears and hurt to enjoy life in the present.
If you're looking for support in your own journey of healing and growth, or if you are looking for some one to help your child with emotional or behavioral issues, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
Please call or email me for an individual, group or family therapy consultation today.
Inspired Resilience: A Group to Boost the Emotional Immune System --- Beginning January 2017
Current events have many feeling overwhelmed, anxious, angry, shocked, and/or depressed. These are natural responses to challenging situations. Changes in policy and cultural climate affect our livelihoods, opportunities, communities, families, relationships, health, safety, and mental health. The personal is indeed political.
The key to surviving and thriving, both individually and as a community, is in learning and practicing resiliency skills that work for you.
This 6-week group combines support, education, and therapy, to help process the current challenges, using meaningful discussion, creative and mindful approaches, and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).
Tuesdays at 7:00 (Start date TBD)
Near Woodley Park Metro
